Editorial policy
Every club page is run by one real, named fan who already makes content about their club. Here's how we choose them and check what they publish.
Who writes
Each creator is a real person, named on every piece they write, with a profile page that links to their own channels. We never publish under made-up names, and we never give anyone credentials they don't have. A creator's expertise is first-hand: they go, they watch, they talk to other fans.
How creators are chosen
- They already make content about their club: a podcast, a channel or a column.
- They're 18 or over and pass an identity check.
- Before any betting link appears on their page, we check their audience's age data, because gambling advertising can't reach under-18s.
How pieces are checked
- For a creator's first 4 weeks, a theTerraces editor checks every piece before it publishes. After that, editors spot-check.
- Any piece that carries a DragonBet link is checked by DragonBet's compliance team first.
- Every article shows who wrote it, who reviewed it, where its facts came from and when they were last checked.
Fact and opinion
Fans have opinions, and that's the point. Opinion pieces are labelled as opinion, so you can tell a creator's view from reported fact.
AI help
Some articles start life as a creator's podcast or video, drafted into text with AI help. Those articles say so. Every score, name and date in a draft is checked against our football data before the creator sees it, and nothing publishes without the creator's approval.
Other outlets' stories
Headlines from other outlets show the headline, the outlet and a link to the original. We don't copy, rewrite or summarise anyone else's reporting.
DragonBet
DragonBet owns theTerraces and pays its creators. A creator's views on their club are their own. How DragonBet links are marked, and what creators earn from them, is on our affiliate disclosure page.
Mistakes
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Our corrections page explains how to tell us.
