Your first 90 days running a club page

A practical plan for the first three months: what to set up, what to publish, and what DragonBet's own football site learned the hard way.

Week 1: set up properly

  • Write your bio in your own words: how long you've followed the club, where you watch from, what your channel or show is about.
  • Add a photo you're happy with and links to every channel you run. Your profile is what tells readers, and Google, you're a real fan.
  • Agree your monthly output with us, so you know exactly what earns the base fee.

Weeks 1 to 4: publish with an editor

For your first 4 weeks an editor checks every piece before it goes live. Use it: ask questions, try formats, find your rhythm. After that, editors spot-check.

Find a rhythm around matchday

  • Before the game: a short preview with your own take on what matters.
  • Straight after: a reaction piece or short clip while the feeling is still fresh.
  • Midweek: the longer piece, the podcast, the opinion that needs room.

What the numbers say works

DragonBet's football site, DragonFootball, has been running since the summer, and its figures are a good guide.

  • Short clips picked on a strong story did well: 7,791 views with a quarter of viewers engaged. Long films barely registered: about 190 views across 13.
  • Lower-league pages win search more easily. League Two club pages got 1.74% of searchers clicking at the same position where Premier League pages got 0.85%.
  • Search took about 3 months to become the main source of visitors. Your own followers carry you until then.

Share your link every time

Every post you make about your page should use your tracked link. It's how your traffic bonus is counted, and it costs nothing to add.

By day 90

Aim to have met your agreed output every month, built a habit your followers expect, and learned which formats your audience clicks on. For non-founding creators, 3 months in a row of agreed output is also when the base fee starts.
